Corporate Giving Practitioner Roundtable Session - Opportunities and Challenges in Skills-Based Volunteering
The National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC); National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and US-based volunteering organisation, Points of Lights, jointly organized a networking session for CSR practitioners on the opportunities and challenges offered by skills-based volunteering on Wednesday 27 May. Hosted by Standard Charted Bank, more than 50 participants from the corporate, non-profit, public and social enterprise sectors attended the session. Mr Lawrence Wong, former Minister for Culture, Community & Youth and Second Minister for Communications and Information also attended the session.
Some of the key highlights include sharing on the findings from NVPC Individual Giving Survey 2014 on volunteering and Successes in Corporate Skills-Based Volunteering Globally. The session also provided corporate practitioners an opportunity to exchange experiences and share best-practice amongst fellow peers on creating and managing a skills-based volunteering programme during a roundtable session.
