Spotlight on Skills Based Volunteering

25 Sep 2017

Skills based volunteering (SBV) leverages off a volunteer’s skills, knowledge and experience to develop the capacity and capability of a non-profit organisation (NPO). With SBV, the needs and requirements of an NPO are closely matched with the skill set that a volunteer can bring to a specific role or a particular project. SBV increases an NPO’s access to a spectrum of expertise that may not be readily available internally within their organisation and in turn, SBV provides an opportunity for a volunteer to apply their professional and personal skills in a new environment.
