A number of companies are progressively moving towards a partnership model of corporate giving where they collaborate with other like-minded stakeholders to meet a community need or to tackle a particular societal issue.
This approach involves harnessing the core competencies, resources and expertise of each partner to form strategic alliances. This collaboration can often create greater impact than what would be generated by each party giving back to the community independently of each other. Often, collective power can help to generate innovative solutions or new ways of addressing issues particularly when cross-sector partners are involved e.g. companies, NPOs, government, voluntary groups and the community themselves.
